Pregnancy and Pain

Low back pain is very common during pregnancy as the body begins to change and adapt to its new role. This period of rapid growth can also cause other musculoskeletal changes in the body in places such as the pelvis, upper back, neck, and feet, to name a few. These have the potential to affect daily activities and the ability to be active during pregnancy, keeping you from moving in ways that make you feel your best. Plus, it's not good for just you- movement during pregnancy can be key in reducing blood pressure, improving mood and easing labour and the delivery process.

It's always best to consult a professional to see if they certain movements are a good fit for your needs.

If you are experiencing pain in your pregnancy, here are a few stretches to try out. Remember to start slowly and listen to your body’s cues to your limits.
