Kristyna Zemanova
Registered Massage Therapist
Kristyna graduated from the accredited Registered Massage Therapy program at Langara College. She is passionate about learning how the human body functions and how to treat a diverse population with a variety of techniques and modalities, including Myofascial, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, and Neuromuscular Facilitation.
She has experience treating many athletes ranging from rock climbers, cyclists, runners, hockey players and horseback riders, as well as people who suffer from non-specific musculoskeletal pain, nerve compressions, osteoarthritis, sprains and strains, and tendinopathies.
Although Kristyna takes an orthopaedic approach to treatment, she believes that it is important to adapt her techniques and treatment plans to the individual she is working with – whether they have an injury, chronic pain or want to unwind. She is a proponent of studies that have demonstrated that relaxation, or stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, is key for healing to begin.
Kristyna herself is an athlete and adventurer. She competed in horseback riding for 10 years, but has fallen more in love with rock climbing, which she has been avidly doing for the past 12 years. When she’s not scaling rock faces, she can be found cycling, hiking or backpacking through B.C’s majestic landscape.
